I've been telling stories for as long as I've been able to talk and writing them down for as long as I've been able to hold a pencil. I honestly don't remember not being able to read.

I was in grade two when I decided I was going to be an author when I grew up. When I was seven, I wrote and illustrated my first book (binding it with cardboard covers from a box of crackers), The Little House in Backward Town. When I was ten, I had my first short story, I Wish I Was Three Inches Tall, published in the local newspaper. By the time I was sixteen, I was working on several novels.

But it wasn't until after I was grown up, married, and my kids were born that I got serious about writing as a career. I've written fantasy, literary, historical, and women's fiction over the years. But, inspired by my kids, I've recently switched to middle grade.

Currently, I am seeking representation for my first middle grade novel, The Rabbit Ate My Homework, and working on a second novel, If Wishes Were Ponies. Plus, I've got ideas for at least another three novels. I just need to find the time to write them all!

My short fiction has appeared in several literary magazines both online and in print, including cahoots, Literary Mama, Gator Springs Gazette, and Flashquake.

I live just outside Vancouver, British Columbia, with my husband, our two sons, and one very spoiled house rabbit.
